In wrapping up Grand Canyon University’s academic year of Chapel services, which focused on the Bible's Hall of Faith, University Pastor Dr. Tim Griffin referenced Hebrews 12:1-2:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
The passage follows the Hall of Faith in Chapter 11, which urges Christians to remain steadfast despite hardships. Griffin said it identifies faith as the confidence in God’s promises, the conviction in trusting God’s faithfulness, and that the elders were approved by God because of their faith.
“You're in a race, and I hope that you will keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus,” Griffin said Monday at Global Credit Union Arena.
Before the Worship team concluded its performance, Griffin encouraged students to reach out to a friend next to them if that friend prayed for them or carried them during a difficult moment.

“They may not be here this morning, but you're thinking of them, and I want to encourage you to thank the Lord for them,” Griffin said. “… Let them know how much we care about them and love them, and you're grateful for what God has done.”
The following Worship team seniors were recognized: Worship leaders – Bailey Hartman, Kaleb Zetterberg and Kaden Groce; production team – Tai Stone, Isaac Bailey, Josh Knox and Olivia Lange; drums – Max Morgan and Carlos Bejarano; electric guitar – Jack Goshkarian; bass guitar – Josiah Nelson.
