Lectric eBikes' customer service center should delight GCU students

Lectric eBikes co-founder Levi Conlow plans to open the company's Customer Delight Facility in Canyon Ventures this spring.

Levi Conlow hasn’t forgotten his Grand Canyon University roots, with the next batch of seeds from his Lectric eBikes company being planted near the middle of the university's Canyon Ventures.

Lectric eBikes is looking to hire GCU students for its Customer Delight Facility.

Lectric plans to hire 35 GCU students for its Customer Delight Facility, slated to open this spring in Canyon Ventures, which supports start-up companies with resources, mentorship and networking, and already houses two "Shark Tank" winners and several student-owned companies.

“It's been a real 360,” GCU Colangelo College of Business Dean John Kaites said of Lectric, which already employs 12 GCU graduates among its 130 staffers. “That company started here at Canyon Ventures as a skateboard company that is now a half-billion dollar a year in sales company, as I understand it. They want to continue to be connected to Grand Canyon University and to hire our students to help with their customer care.”

Colangelo College of Business Dean John Kaites said Lectric eBikes and co-founder Levi Conlow, a GCU alumnus, continue to be connected with GCU.

Lectric will occupy around 1,500 square feet, said Canyon Ventures Acting Director Connor Vicary. Cubicles and partitions currently fill more than half of that space, once occupied by Big Time Jerseys and Aluee hair care.

As Lectric starts to formally move into its customer service section toward the latter part of February, students will have the opportunity to apply for positions. GCU’s Career Services will work with student onboarding, Vicary said.

“The recent prospective GCU students I've spoken to have been so grateful for the opportunity to work directly on campus for such innovative companies,” Vicary said. "For these students, Lectric will be particularly impressive, being one of the most innovative companies I've encountered."

The opportunity to serve in customer service for a company of Lectric’s stature also is appealing to students, Kaites added.

As Lectric revenues have swelled to more than $200 million, Conlow continues to follow one of the Colangelo College of Business' pillars of conscious capitalism. Lectric has funded the equivalent of 30 full scholarships under the Fostering Futures program for the 2025-26 academic year. And the company donated 700 eBikes to GCU CityServe – where his former Lectric Longboards partner, Nathan Cooper, serves as director – to alleviate transportation issues facing those who are economically stressed.

The placement of the Lectric eBikes Customer Delight Facility near the center of Canyon Ventures is strategic.

“It tells the story to prospective students that Levi Conlow, as a student, built this,” Vicary said. “... This is a glimpse into what is possible, and I think prospective students will absolutely love it.”

Bible Verse

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say He is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. (Amos 5:14-15)
