Fourth of July Tabata workout

By Kayla Hartson

Here is your Fourth of July at-home workout! No fitness equipment necessary!

What is Tabata?

Tabata is a high intensity interval workout format. It consists of 20 seconds of all-out effort followed by 10 seconds of rest. You repeat the 20:10 intervals for eight rounds a total of 4 minutes.

Tabata training is a fantastic way to torch calories and increase your energy.

Try the following workout at home:

Tabata 1: jumping jacks and tricep dips

Tabata 2: burpees and glute bridges

Tabata 3: skater jumps and mountain climbers

Tabata 4: squat jumps and push-ups

How it works

Each Tabata is a separate 4-minute Tabata sequence. For example, complete Tabata 1, alternating between jumping jacks and tricep dips until you’ve completed eight rounds (four rounds of each exercise), for a total of four minutes. Then, move on to Tabata 2. Complete all four Tabatas for a 16-minute, total body workout!
