Title: Instructor

Years at GCU: 2.5

Academic degrees: Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies, Master of Arts in Education Leadership, Bachelor of Applied Theology

Faculty scholarship (publications, scholarly presentations, fellowships, etc.): I have published on beauty and art in theology and have presented on beauty in theology at a variety of national and regional  conferences. Recently, I have been working on some interdisciplinary research bridging the gap between theology and other disciplines.

Notable research in your field: My specialty in theology is Theological Aesthetics -- specifically, beauty and how that relates to spiritual formation.

Jenkins enjoys traveling during the summer.

Notable employment in your field: I have been at GCU for three academic years and was at California Baptist University for three years before that. I have worked on a couple of published works as both a writer and an editor.

What are you most passionate about in your field? I am passionate about seeing students come to new understandings of who God is and who they are in light of that.

What aspect of your teaching style is the most distinctive and/or memorable? I am pretty high energy and incorporate a lot of different learning modalities into the class.

What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? I am involved in my church, leading a small group and volunteering with the preschoolers on Sunday morning. I also serve as a volunteer coordinator for a nonprofit that helps foster children and as a wish granter for Make-A-Wish. During summers I like to travel, both nationally and internationally.

What is something interesting about you that most people don't know? I worked at church camp for seven years through high school and college and never once lost spirit points.
