An eventful year for Grand Canyon University’s Eta Chi chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the international business honor society, ended Monday with the induction of 128 more members.
For the first time, the ceremony was in the lobby of the Colangelo College of Business Building, which has had an equally eventful year. The four-story structure opened in August, and its grand opening was celebrated in January.
Special guest speaker Tim Kelley, Assistant Professor for Entrepreneurship and Economics, underscored why professional associations like Delta Mu Delta are so important. We are living in the most exciting business climate ever, he said, with innovations constantly overtaking what already has taken place.
The 24 inductees who came to campus for the ceremony then received their stoles and certificates.
Eta Chi achieved Star Chapter status, signifying that it is in the top 5% of chapters and exceeds the society’s standards for chapter operation and administration, last August and conducted more events than ever in 2018-19.
Its work included two networking opportunities, a supplies drive, a project with the Phoenix Dream Center and two leadership guest speakers in addition to its annual hosting of the Dr. Kevin McClean Research Colloquium.
The new officers for the fall semester are Shannon Walker, President; Regan Roth, Vice President; and Tatum Kubes, Secretary/Treasurer.
