MICKELE KUNSELMAN

Mickele Kunselman and her family

Job title: Administrative Assistant to Student Care

Job location: Main campus, Student Life Building

What attracted you to GCU? Pretty much everything, but mostly the positive energy throughout the campus.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? House Flipping (#DemoDays #SledgeHammer). We buy houses that the majority of the population would not want to buy or set foot into, for that matter. It is so rewarding to take something not so pretty and make it amazing.

What are you passionate about? Taking on projects from just an idea all the way through fruition.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement (comes with the territory of flipping houses).

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: My two boys were born on the same day, three years apart -- absolutely not planned to work that way. I dropped our son off at daycare on his birthday along with our camera and was planning to pick up his birthday cake and take it back to daycare to celebrate. While running errands,  I went into labor and was advised to immediately report to the hospital. Needless to say, there are no pictures of our son's birthday party or newborn pictures of our second child. They look very similar, too. People sometimes ask if they are twins. I say, "Yes, but three years apart." I definitely get a funny look until I explain.

What are you most proud of? Raising my boys to be amazing and loving men. They inherited those traits from me, of course!

ZAC HARRIS

Zac Harris

Job title: Sports Performance Specialist

Job location: Main campus, Lopes Recreation Center

What attracted you to GCU? I was attracted to GCU because of the atmosphere of growth. When I visited with members of the athletic staff, I was impressed with the vision for the future and where GCU was expected to sit in the national athletic arena. I was impressed with the high level of investment with everyone I met. Coach Nicole Powell and her staff are coaches of the highest caliber, and their passion and drive to make the program a powerhouse was and is attractive and was and is something I want to be part of.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I am a family man. I love spending time with my wife and my two children. I love being outdoors. I enjoy reading and being exposed to new ideas. I really enjoy meaningful conversations of substance. I also enjoy playing sports or really anything competitive.

What are you passionate about? Human performance. My interest in maximizing athletic potential is what led me to this field. It was sparked while studying and playing at the University of Utah and has continued to grow from experiences working in research laboratories and working with athletes in a variety of situations.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I haven’t been here long enough to have one. I’d love suggestions!

What are you most proud of? I’m proud of my family. Not just my wife and kids, but of my heritage as well.

Bible Verse

"Consider carefully what you hear," Jesus continued. "With the measure you use, it will be measured to you — and even more. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him." Mark 4:24-25

Jesus continued His message, saying, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24)
