‘Dynamic STEM Duo’ kicks off webinar series

GCU Strategic Educational Alliances’ Corinne Araza and Marni Landry are flexing their muscles as the University’s Dynamic STEM Duo. They put together a couple of webinars for the National Catholic Educational Association recently to help Catholic schools hone their STEM education techniques (that’s science, technology, engineering and math). But those webinars are just the warmup for a GCU-based series of webinars and podcasts SEA will launch in the fall, in partnership with Teaching Channel Plus, as SEA increases its web presence.

Survey: GCU’s Christian foundation is far-reaching

A survey on Grand Canyon University’s distinct Christian worldview and integration of faith showed that more than 80 percent of campus, online and evening students identified as Christians. Almost 85 percent of campus students had a positive perception of faith integration and almost 87 percent of online students had a positive one.

Summaries of this testimony made its way into the public media accounts, and GCU is setting the record straight.

Even the driver is on board with new GCU bus

On the job: GCU focused on career-friendly degrees

Gone are the days of only having the option of earning the traditional bachelor’s degree in English or bachelor’s degree in history. Administrators want to make sure the University’s degrees lead to getting a job. So they’ve consulted with experts in the field and have reshaped many of GCU’s degree offerings, which are now “career-focused,” from a bachelor’s degree in history with an emphasis in public history, for example, to a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in professional writing.

Great stories, great memories as GCU salutes vets

About 50 GCU employees loaded up four passenger vans and headed to the Arizona State Veteran Home on Wednesday for Salute Our Troops. It was where they played Texas Hold ‘Em with the veterans at the nursing care facility, joined in games of bean bag toss and sang in the military branch singalong. But more importantly, it was where they spent time visiting with some deserving military heroes.
