Hour of Code an A++ effort

GCU computer science professor Lydia Fritz (left), College of Science, Engineering and Technology Assistant Dean Dr. Heather Monthie (second from right) and Strategic Educational Alliances Executive Director Kathryn Scott (right) participated in the Hour of Code with Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (second from left) Dec. 4 at the Phoenix Coding Academy. GCU spent an hour working with academy students -- and the governor -- on learning how to write code. He made it through four levels of Minecraft. Hour of Code is a national initiative to bring computer science to every school in the country. The activity kicked off National Computer Science Education Week. (Contributed photo)
