FBI provides tactical training to GCU Public Safety

FBI conducted two training sessions for GCU Public Safety employees
The Federal Bureau of Investigations spent two days on GCU’s main campus this past month conducting Basic Active Shooter Response Training for GCU Public Safety employees. “Due to this training, (the) Public Safety Department is better prepared to address an active shooter situation,” said Director of Public Safety Joseph Yahner.

GCU’s recycling campaign cleaned up in 2016-17

Thanks to a campaign that increased awareness on campus, especially among students, Grand Canyon University recycled 129 tons of trash during the 2016-17 academic year, according to a report by Phoenix-based Waste Management. “They made a concerted effort last year and it paid off. Students played a big role in the recycling success,” Waste Management Communications Director Jennifer Rivera said.
