Ministry Forum breaks bread on Last Supper questions

The College of Theology’s Ministry Forum tackled the three different views of communion (Memorial, Lutheran, Reformed) in a session Monday that sparked a lot of discussion. In the end, the three speakers — Dr. Joshua Greever, James Waddell and Dr. Shawn Bawulski — agreed that while there are definite differences among the three viewpoints, there also are a lot of similarities.

Chapel talk lays foundation for building up others

Ron Merrell is funny. He’s also direct. And his Chapel talk Monday morning had a funny way of going directly to your heart. Between funny stories and one-liners, the former standup comic urged everyone in the Arena to concentrate on listening to what God says about them and ignoring what their detractors say. But our mission doesn’t stop there.

Day of the Dead display on campus

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences on Monday created a Day of the Dead altar decorated with flowers, colorful streamers, photos of departed loved ones, crosses, crucifixes, even plates of cookies. Nov. 2 is a day when some believe the souls of the departed return to earth and provide counsel and advice to loved ones.
