Antelope Intros: Megan Hart, TJ Clark and Nicole Lavonier

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

MEGAN HART

Job title: University development representative, College of Nursing and Health Care Professions

Job location: Millville, N.J.

What attracted you to GCU? I was attracted to the academic excellence and Christian values of GCU. While in training I was amazed at the beauty and quality of the campus, the training and the spiritual connectedness.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love to take pictures and shoot video. I love capturing events and the people I love and care about and making them something beautiful to remember that event. I do this on a volunteer basis and am the media ministry leader at my church, Life Church in Williamstown, N.J.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about community outreach. I served as a pastor of a nursing home for 5½ years and am currently the site leader for Adopt-a-Block from Life Church, where we help people in need every other Saturday at a motel by meeting basic needs and praying for them. I am also a missionary with the Assemblies of God and through my church. I have been through hard times and faced many life challenges, but I have a heart for helping and serving others and make a conscious decision each day in faith to trust God and move forward. As I go about the business of my Heavenly Father, He takes care of me in every way.

What are your favorite places or events that you like to visit? I love the shore, and I love traveling with my daughter, Mackenzie. We love roller coasters, so any theme park will certainly be on our itinerary. While training in Arizona, I visited Sedona and absolutely loved it!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am writing a devotional book based on everyday life experiences (parables).

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my beautiful daughter. She's 10 and is my greatest gift from God. Mackenzie has the same desire to help others and has a kind and compassionate soul. She has served with me in ministry and community outreach, and I cannot wait to see all God is going to do in her life.

TJ CLARK

Job title: Help desk analyst

Job location: Main campus

What attracted you to GCU? I know a lot of people here and I love IT. I am totally loving it here. My co-workers are amazing, the campus is beautiful and I can’t wait to get even more involved. I am gonna buy season tickets for basketball and rock purple everywhere.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I play basketball, swim, sing, dance, hang with friends, Xbox, go shooting and recently I started boxing!

What are you passionate about? Music! I love to sing, and if I could do one thing (other than work here, of course) it would be as a full-time singer.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Suns games! I also like hiking to places like the Hole in the Rock or going to the desert and shooting.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am a hairstylist. I got my cosmetology license in 2006 and did hair for a couple of years.

What are you most proud of? I am proud of my family because we have been through a lot and still come out loving each other. I am proud of where I am going in my life. I have had ups and downs but try to always keep a positive attitude and continously count my blessings – I have a roof over my head, a great job, great friends and great support from everyone around me. So I am happy and very blessed and very grateful for that.

Bible Verse

No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over 60, has been faithful to her husband, and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble, and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds. (1 Timothy 5:10)
