Antelope Intros: Cash Hart, Erin Riffel and Matt Rosenkilde

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is both fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

CASH HART

Job location: Peoria

What attracted you to GCU?  The environment, traditional campus, programs offered, culture.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Paint, draw, snowboard, hang at the lake and try to wakeboard, rock out with my band Halocene, play volleyball, see a movie, play poker… the normal stuff.

What are you passionate about? Music and art.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  Marquee Theatre, Westgate, Mill Avenue, any place that my band is rocking at.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:  Most people don’t know that I’m awesome.

What are you most proud of?  Somehow I convinced an amazing girl to marry me, and my band recently shared the stage with Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Flogging Molly, and many other great artists.

MATT ROSENKILDE

Job title:  Doctoral Specialist/Enrollment Counselor

Job location: Tempe

What attracted you to GCU?  I was attracted to GCU’s Christian roots and values. It is refreshing to work for a company/University that has the same/similar value system that I do. I also love going to school here which gave me even more fuel to consider GCU a perfect fit for me, my family and my career.  I am blessed by being given the opportunity to work, learn and grow here at GCU.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet?  Exercise, sports, and spending time with my family. I have a 13-year-old daughter, an 11-year-old son and a 2-year-old stepson.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about my Savior, my God, my family and helping people be well in any way I can. Given enough time I can get passionate about a variety of topics.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  If I have to pick one place that I like to go in Arizona, that would be Sedona (incredible weather, hiking, cliff jumping and scenery).

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:  I sing at karaoke and have competed in karaoke competitions. The first competition I did I was talked into by the karaoke host after being told I embody Frank Sinatra’s singing style spot on. I just sang for fun and stress relief prior to that. Fun, flattering yet supremely unexpected.

What are you most proud of?  I am proud of my education and as a result of my education and Toastmaster’s practice and feedback I was able to place 2nd at an international motivational speaking competition for Toastmasters International in my first year as a Toastmaster.
