The May and August 2011 graduating class from the College of Nursing in Tucson attended the first ever Tucson Nursing Career Fair coordinated by the GCU Office of Career Services.  Students were dressed professionally with resume and business card in hand.

"The event was a positive experience for all who attended," says Paula James, Director, Pre-Licensure BSN Program. "Students were very appreciative of the opportunity to meet with potential employers and stated that we should definitely continue to offer this in the future. It was a great networking opportunity."

Local employers were impressed with the GCU students they met.

"I’m very impressed with your students and how professional and inquisitive they are," says Jane Hawksley, Director of Nursing from Sierra Tucson. Sun Life Home Health asked if they could visit our main campus and meet our Phoenix nursing students as well.

Soon-to-be nursing graduates were given information about all the services available to them as a GCU Alumni, including in part resume review, job search preparation, as well as local Alumni Chapter membership. Sheri Knoettgen won a free cap and gown for use at graduation in May.

Bible Verse

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. (Romans 3:27-28)
