The Office of Career Services at Grand Canyon University is proud to present the Student Worker of the Month – Patricia Mollel.

Mollel is a student in the MBA in Information Systems program and currently works as an A/V Assistant in the GCU Audio Visual department. She also interns with the Arizona Government Information Technology Agency (GITA) on the project management team.

In addition to her studies and work commitments, Mollel is president of the GCU International Club. She is from Tanzania, and earned her bachelor’s degree at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa.

Her role as A/V Assistant requires her to set up meetings for faculty and staff across campus, aiding in technology for lectures and troubleshooting any A/V technology issues. She describes the A/V department as one of the most efficient teams on campus.

“The whole team deserves to be recognized as student worker of the month,” says Mollel. “We’ve built great relationships with each other and Wyatt gives us the comfort and support to enjoy our work and do our best at it every day.”

Mollel is involved in unique work at the State Capitol with GITA. She works on the team that manages all IT related projects that cost more than $25,000 in the state budget.

Her work here and there provides her an opportunity to facilitate communication and technology in classrooms – a purpose she has developed for herself. She is dedicated to merging business and technology.

“Patricia is very sharp, a hard worker, and is always looking for a better way to accomplish the work we do,” says Audio Visual Supervisor Mitchell Wyatt. “She always has a positive attitude and offers great customer service to our students and staff. Above all, she is an excellent team player and truly cares about the success of those around her.”
