Softball Stadium opener is truly Grand

More than 1,200 fans attended the first game at the new GCU Softball Stadium, where fans lined up for free hot dogs, took photographs and took turns pitching balls at inflated backyard bullpens. To add to the excitement, GCU swept Montana 6-2 and 5-2 in the season-opening doubleheader.

GCU flexing a new health initiative

GCU is flexing its latest recognition as an Exercise is Medicine campus. What that means is that, in addition to the typical questions at the health clinic, students will be asked about their exercise habits and may get a prescription for exercise. The idea is to improve the health of students on college campuses.

Dance team takes 4th in 1st try at Division I nationals

Even though it was competing in Division I for the first time, the GCU Dance team placed fourth in Jazz Dance last weekend at the College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Fla. And while the Cheer team did not make the finals, it showed a lot of grit by performing after one of the cheerleaders was injured and had to be taken to a hospital.
