‘Parking heroes’ rewarded for their service

GCU’s Parking Hero challenge ended Friday with the award of 10 prizes to 10 employees who parked at the 27th Avenue Office Center and shuttled back and forth to the main campus to free up spaces for students in the final three weeks of school. Cindy Seminoff was one of two iPad winners, and we couldn’t be happier for her. Her young son’s iPad recently was stolen, and his birthday is this week. (We wanted the Kindle Fire anyway.)

GCU employees have pledged nearly $500,000 to Canyon’s Donation to Education, a year-old program that directs state tax funds to help pay for private-school tuition for families who otherwise couldn’t afford it, and to public school districts and public charter schools facing budget cuts impacting extracurricular activities.
