‘Comedy of Errors’ Has the Look of a Winner

If you haven’t seen an Ethington Theatre Series production this season — and even if you have — then find a way to get to “The Comedy of Errors.” The Shakespearean farce, a tale of mistaken identity, has a number of solid performances from the GCU student cast. But perhaps the biggest star is the set created by Assistant Dean Bill Symington, technical director Matt Ward and their stagecraft class in the College of Fine Arts and Production.

COE Building Connects GCU’s Present, Past

GCU’s largest college celebrated the opening of its new home on Thursday — and what a home it is. A formal dedication was held for the new College of Education building, which opened to classes on Jan. 5. The two-story facility, wedged gracefully between the library and Fleming, has 19 classrooms and represents a permanent destination for the college, which has bounced around over the years.

COE Building Gets High Marks on First Day

GCU Welcomes New Doctoral Studies Dean

It was in his previous position at the University of Phoenix that Dr. Henry Radda found himself taking note of GCU. Radda, who launched and oversaw the school’s doctoral programs, knew something about growth, having taken the School of Advanced Studies to an enrollment of 7,000. “I wasn’t necessarily looking to make a change,” he said Wednesday while settling into his office as GCU’s new senior vice president and dean of the College of Doctoral Studies.

‘Kinetic Dreams’ a Moving Debut for Dance

The GCU Dance Ensemble made its debut over the weekend with a highly expressive, passionate and creative winter concert, “Kinetic Dreams,” at Ethington Theatre. Saturday’s dance performance was the first in more than three years at Ethington and was followed by a second show Sunday. Under the direction of Susannah Keita, the troupe of 10 dancers performed a series of lyrical ballet, jazz and modern dance routines.
