Seven years ago, as a gift for
my grandparents, I painted
planets and stars on canvas
and included a certificate
for a star that I named
through the International
Star Registry. The Bob and
Jane Wondrash Star shines
down on me, now and always.
I thank God for creating that
star just for my grandparents,
and just for me.
Jennifer Tran,
GCU graduate student
In December 2009, I met
a homeless woman named
Bernie who didn’t think
she deserved love and
forgiveness. I showed her
in the Bible how God sees
her and how she should see
herself. She went to church
with me, got off the streets
and into an apartment,
and found her two sons. I
believe God brought Bernie
into my life to restore her
and to remind me how
valuable we are to Him.
Regina Madden,
enrollment manager
My brother, Bill, took me to
my first concert when I was
10. We went to see Missing
Persons in Long Beach, and
as I grew up, we must have
gone to about 100 concerts. I
had a poster signed by one of
our favorites, the Steve Morse
Band, and for Christmas 1998,
I framed and gave it to Bill
as a thank you for enriching
my life through music.
