COE's Meyer remembered for innovation, devotion

GCU News Bureau

Gina Meyer, a member of the College of Education staff from 2008 to 2017 and adjunct faculty from 2008 to this year at Grand Canyon University, died of breast cancer on June 25.

Gina Meyer

Meyer was an elementary school teacher in the Tempe Elementary School District before joining GCU as Assessment and TaskStream Coordinator.

Her extensive technology, management and organizational experiences helped teacher candidates hone their skills, knowledge and abilities.

In addition to her roles in the college, she was a member of the University Assessment Committee, a subject matter expert in developing new courses and assisted the faculty training and development department in evaluating professional reviews of online adjunct faculty.

She was always looking for ways to incorporate innovative technology tools to bring the course content alive for her online students. In addition to advocating for her students, she also was a great resource for the online adjunct faculty.

A loving daughter, mother and grandmother as well as a devoted New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals fan, Gina truly loved GCU and most especially everyone in the College of Education.

Bible Verse

Jesus continued His message, saying, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24)
