The FCA Golf Ministry in Chandler, Ariz. is in need of three interns in the following areas: Social Media Internship – This individual will handle all the social media for FCA Golf including integration into our website and other locations that pertain. (Facebook and Twitter) Communications and PR – This individual will handle all press releases, news, newsletter and communication to the media from FCA Golf. Over the weekend the GCU women’s basketball team clinched it’s fourth PacWest Championship in five years and claimed a spot in the Division II West Regional. The team will face off with Seattle Pacific University in Pomona, Calif. on Friday, March 11, and you could be there. Get on the bus to support the Lady ‘Lopes! All GCU Students are Welcome! National Stage Awaits Top Antelope Athletes

Next weekend has been circled in red for weeks and months on the calendars of GCU athletes in wrestling, swimming, and track and field. National qualifiers will head off to the NCAA Division II championships, in far-off places such as Kearney, Neb., San Antonio and Albuquerque. It doesn’t get any bigger than this, and in the final preparations there is no room for doubt, only determination.

Arizona Teacher of Year Addresses FEA Meeting

The 2011 Arizona Teacher of the Year told Friday’s second day of the Future Educators Association state conference that a teacher has an opportunity to affect eternity. Amanda McAdams, a former practicing attorney, now teaches English and student government at Apollo High School in Glendale. She was named Teacher of the Year by the Arizona Educational Foundation.

GCU Hosts Future Educators on Campus

GCU’s chief executive officer, Brian Mueller, welcomed nearly 500 high school members of the Arizona chapter of the Future Educators Association to campus on Thursday morning. The teens, representing nearly 30 high schools, will engage in a variety of activities, competitions and breakout sessions in the two-day conference.

Photovoice Exhibit on Display in GCU Library

Photographs taken by nine refugee teenagers involved in a collaborative community project are now on display at the GCU Library. The Photovoice exhibit features the work of middle-school and high-school students from the Canyon Corridor. The project involved TERROS Behavioral Health Services, the COPE Coalition, the Canyon Corridor Community Coalition, the International Rescue Committee and Mercy Housing.

Slideshow: Cancer Climb Gets Big Lift from GCU

On Saturday, GCU turned out in force for the Climb to Conquer Cancer at South Mountain Park in Phoenix, which drew more than 4,000 participants. GCU’s team of 47 raised $5,902, which surpassed its goal by nearly 20 percent. The University also sponsored a tent, distributing T-shirts to cancer survivors. Two quilts were raffled, and a banner signed by survivors will soon be displayed on campus.
