Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

Victoria Garrett

Job title: University counselor, College of Education online

Job location: Tempe

What attracted you to GCU? I wanted to work for a Christian company that valued giving back to the community and the personal lives of its employees.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love being outside! I play in recreational soccer, softball and volleyball leagues. I also enjoy hiking with boyfriend, Taylor, and my dog, Clifford.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about volunteering and traveling. I currently volunteer as a youth group leader at my church and at Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA (AAWL). If you’re looking to adopt a dog or cat, visit the shelter. They are amazing! I love to travel, especially internationally. Some of my favorite places I’ve been to are Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Colorado, Hawaii and Alaska.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Some places I frequently visit with my friends are TopGolf, Four Peaks and Boulders on Broadway for trivia nights.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I lived in eight different homes growing up, all within the same school district.

What are you most proud of? Planning and completing my 26-day backpacking trip throughout Europe last summer!
