Antelope Intros: Sean Hanlon and Adena Glasper

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

SEAN HANLON

Job title: Assistant resident director

Job location: Main campus, Juniper Hall

What attracted you to GCU? I am a recent graduate of GCU and had enjoyed my time here as an undergraduate. When an opportunity arose to come back to work here in a role where I can help others achieve goals and become better versions of themselves, I jumped at the opportunity.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I am an avid New York sports fan (Go, Mets!) and enjoy playing hockey and tennis. Phoenix also provides great hiking, which I dabble in on occasion.

What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about impact. I believe that we all are very fortunate to be at a campus in a community that can really be impacted by students and faculty alike. Impacting others is something that motivates me to try to become my best version of myself.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love to go to games involving any of the local professional teams. My favorite time of year eventwise in Phoenix is definitely when spring training is in town.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I have appeared on “The Price is Right” (one of my friends won a car) and had an appearance on “Criss Angel Mindfreak” in 2006.

What are you most proud of? Honoring my family by graduating from GCU with honors. It was a special moment to celebrate with them an achievement that I could have not accomplished without their support.

ADENA GLASPER

Job title: Military enrollment counselor

Job location: Peoria

What attracted you to GCU? The personal connection I developed with my counselors as a student, something I did not have at my previous university. I was able to connect with my enrollment counselor and student services adviser and speak with them throughout my degree program.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love music and movies. My dream is to be a music and movie critic.

What are you passionate about? Helping others. I have learned that I was made to help and motivate people toward identifying their passions and dreams.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love to visit sneaker stores in the Valley. My sneaker collection is pretty huge, and I do my best to get out to every store and see what is new.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am multitalented and have tried just about everything as a career. I have been a poet, boxer, musician and am working on doing computer programming. Although the old saying is “Jack/Jane of many trades, expert of none,” I will continue to try new things until I discover what God has planned for me.

What are you most proud of? Completing my master’s in business administration by the age of 24. That was a huge accomplishment for me — I am in the first person in my family to have a master’s. I appreciated the looks and tears on the faces of my family, and now it’s all about finding what I can do with the business knowledge that I have.
