‘Lopes basketball racked up two victories yesterday with the Lady ‘Lopes defeated Chaminade with the largest winning percentage in school history (69 points) and the men defeated Chaminade to earn second place in the Pacific West Conference. None of this could prepare you for the halftime festivies – the GCU Dancing Deans.

Cheer on the ‘Lopes on National TV Jan. 29

Join the ‘Lopes Saturday, January 29 as the CBS College Sports Network broadcasts GCU Men’s Basketball vs. BYU-Hawaii. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a pregame party on the lawn with free Chipotle. Men’s basketball tips off at noon followed by Women’s basketball versus BYU-Hawaii at 3:25 p.m. In lieu of an admission fee, GCU is accepting donations for the American Cancer Society.

Four Choirs Raise the Roof in Gospel Concert

Psalm 100 speaks of making a joyful noise to the Lord, and four GCU choirs took the passage to heart at Ethington Theatre on Tuesday evening. “Gospel and Song!” brought together New Life, the Canyon Singers, the Canyon Chorale and the CBM Ministry Gospel Choir for an hour of uplifting music, much of it a cappella and all of it rhythmic and passionate.

Video Screen Installed on East Side of COE Building

The College of Education classroom building, already a huge hit with students, staff and visitors, became even more spectacular this week with the installation of the Times Square-style video screen on the second level of its eastern exterior. Components for the screen arrived Wednesday from China. The project is the work of Darren Bak of Atlanta-based Innovation Sports Marketing, and Bak was on hand to oversee the installation by local company Christy Signs and its crew of eight.

College Nights with the Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are extending their college night ticket deal to all home games through the rest of the season. The Suns College Night can guarantee you a ticket to the game for $15 or less. You must purchase your ticket on game day after 10 a.m. at US Airways Center Box Office only. Students must also present their student ID to secure discount.
