Good Neighbor Club Tours Serrano Village

One of the newest student clubs on campus has wasted no time digging into its purpose. For their third meeting since forming, the dozen members of the Good Neighbor Club toured facilities at Serrano Village – an apartment complex less than one mile from GCU. The club plans to provide ESL training and other outreach efforts to more than 560 refugees living in the apartments.

Homeland Security Hosts Criminal-Justice Students

Black Hole Needs Students to Bring the Crazy

Gold-Medal Wrestler Takes on New Challenges

Olympic gold-medal wrestler Henry Cejudo has his sights set on another gold — and another goal. Now he’s enrolled at GCU, taking three classes on campus and one online, while starting to train for the 2012 Olympics in London.

GCU Lip Sync 2010 Video

Lip Sync 2010 was a hit, filling North Gym with students. Even the old pullout bleachers were packed! All nine acts were hilarious and well-conceived. Throughout the evening, GCU students had a great time laughing at their fellow students. Shirt Time (which performed “All My Life”) won the Judges’ Award and Bhangra (“My Song 4”) won the People’s Choice Award.

Student Leader of the Month: Derek Drake

The Office of Campus Life has selected sophomore Derek Drake as its first Student Leader of the Month for 2010-11. Drake is a double major in Christian studies and music. He is also a life leader in Hegel Hall and a worship leader with the Gathering band.
